I was living a kind of lazy housewife life for a long time… until last Saturday. I received an email from Jennifer Delano of JenJenPR, asking me of I was willing to join the organisation of  a simultaneous reallife – Secondlife fashion show. This time the event will take place in the hot and steamy Club NL in Amsterdam during a party of the über cute Johnny de Mol! I shifted  some dust away from my housewife life and said yes! Of course I want!

Because EFA is not able to host this event for now, I was glad that Patty Cortes, Glance International Agency, was very enthusiastic and willing to take the challenge with me to turn this RL-SL event, like First Fusion, Syntopia and EFA-AIFW2009, into an unforgetable experience. Together with her spirit, the designs of Convoitise and our experience with RL-SL events we will present you a party that can not be missed!

Stay tuned for more news!

Just because it’s getting colder outside, doesn’t mean that you can’t continue to look hot. Keeping this in mind, I did a little shopping for a sexy fall look and this is what I came up with.

There really  are not many things that look hotter than leather and this lovely ensemble proves it. The Black leather jacket is a new release from COCO and features amazing detail and sleek lines that give it a tailored fashion forward look. The top, from Plastik, is actually the top of a mini dress called Shredder and provides just enough edge to make this ensemble perfect for clubwear.

Spring is upon us, and it’s time to pull out your shorts and crop tops.  You can still be glam and fashionable with your choices.  This week I’ve put together something that you could easily wear for date night or to the hottest new club in SL.  Armidi has wonderful separates and they have the best pair of Jordyn shorts.  They’ve been out for a year, and I still can’t find a pair I like better.  The metallic gold version, adds some drama to the look.  Using metallics is a great way to glam up any outfit.

I paired a purple zip jacket to the shorts.  The rich plum top  from Decoy is full of surprises with it’s prim belt with gold buckle and poofy sleeve parts.  Gold always adds luxury to your style, and the accesories from Armidi fit perfectly.  Now I just need to find my date…

Check out the style card for details.

I’m in love.

It’s an ongoing affair, I guess, and very healthy… I swear. I’m not breaking up any homes or obsessing constantly. I’m not starving myself or driving slowly past the house at 2 AM to make sure you’re at home or anything. None of that. No, I’m currently in the middle of a very deep, very satisfying, very passionate love affair with Second Life.

It started pretty much instantly too, call it love at first sight. Oh, sure there are imperfections, just like all the best loves, but what it comes down to is potential. I’m in love with the potential of things, and specifically that thing we call Second Life.

However you choose to define it, you get out what you put in, and I’m always happy to see something gorgeous shared with the rest of us. Even better, I’m ecstatic when there’s a deeper meaning to it, when the potential of our favorite metaverse is recognized and used. It’s how I feel about Leezu Baxter’s Revolution Pan dress.

So, who’s your favorite designer?

We all have a few. I mean, there’s no way I could just come up with one single name, you probably can’t either. There’s probably at least two or three that pop up off the top of your head. Give it a couple more seconds and you could probably come up with four or five more. I could wait even longer and wait for you to scroll through your inventory and you’d probably see a few names that you’d totally forgotten about.

So, there’s a list. Call it a personal ‘best of’.  Call it the ‘shortlist’. If it’s a round number you could even name it something like My Personal Top Ten. This is your list, remember, name it what you want. Oh, and forget those so-called ‘official’ lists, they’re irrelevent. You’re the one spending your $L after all, right?

Okay, so you’ve got your list. Who’s on it? Is there a theme? Maybe you’re looking for something cutting edge, maybe you like glamour. Maybe you’re one of those discerning fashionistas obsessed with textures and prims. Maybe you’re going for super-realistic, maybe your tastes are closer to neko-tastic vampire cyberpunk. Whatever it is, you’ve got your tastes.

Since I was a very young girl I have always loved the elegance of vintage clothing. Neferia Abel, owner and designer of Ivalde Designs has been bringing that elegance into Second Life for awhile now. Neferia has truly set the bar high with the great attention to detail, lush beautiful textures of  clothing &  don’t get me started on the delicious skins. Knowing the quality of her work I got really excited when I found out through EFA’s Tiffany Dragonash that Neferia had decided to expand and work on new more modern designs perfect for every woman with a totally new brand, “L’Abel.  ” Slipping on these new masterpieces I am in awe!  They were everything I imagined and more, sexy, sophisticated, and just simple knock down beautiful. I got to chat with Neferia and she is a sweet person and I am so happy to have met her.

Temperance Moonites: What’s in store for L’Abel and is there anything exciting coming up you would like us to know about?

Neferia Abel: I have a few exciting projects in the works! I will be redesigning the store next week, giving it a more updated, fresh appearance. I’m also going to start designing more contemporary clothing, giving as much attention to design there as I do to my other lines.

So SySy Chapman IMs me the other day and asks “was it you who said you like vintage fashions?” and I was like…”ummm I don’t think I said that. I mean, I DO like them” and then SySy said “no, I’m sure it was you” so I was like “oh okay, you’re probably right.”

I know, really dramatic.

So, right, I’ll never write the great American play or anything… but I think the above is really actually pretty interesting.

Time in Second Life is kind of like dog years. An hour is a day is a week is a month is a year and all that. Look at what you were wearing a couple years ago; it might not be out of style exactly but maybe it’s a different style than what you have now. Maybe you were wearing more t-shirts with band names on it. Maybe your hair was shorter. Maybe that skirt you used to put on to get drinks from boys at the bar is just, well… not something you wear so much. Wait ten years, wait twenty and you’ll probably be laughing at your own pictures like you did your parents old high school yearbook. Now, think about the dog year timeline that is Second Life. We’ve got a LOT of opportunities to play with our looks or find new designers. Favorite skins can change, fabrics can look better or worse to you, cuts go up or down with trends and your mood.
