I blogged the auction event before actually logging in-world to check the updates on the donation box and saw it emitting red smoke. I panicked a little thinking O my god, what now? and then arrived at the box to see the indicator red bar right at the top. The goal of L$ 100,000 has been reached and surpassed by L$ 68,000. The total is L$ 168,000. Inexplicable — last time I saw the box was about 5 hours ago and we had collected something in the range of about L$ 56,000. I simple cannot believe it! but thank you thank you thank you to all of you who have contributed – I hope you are reading this. The show is to commence at 11AM – see you there!

After four amazing days of fashion and glamour featuring the collections of eight talented Second Life designers, we have reached the sixth day of EFA Fashion Week in association with Second Style Magazine and sponsored by [hoorenbeek] Quality Clothing for men. The sixth day is the charity auction. The aim of the charity auction is to raise awareness and funds for Pink Ribbon – the breast cancer charity that supports women that have been affected by breast cancer and educates others about being “breast aware”.

In 2007, approximately 240,510 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed among women and approximately 40,460 women are expected to die from breast cancer.  Only lung cancer accounts for more cancer deaths in women – source: The Cancer Org.

The target goal is L$ 100,000, of which we have already raised over 50% just by the placement of boxes by members of the Pink Ribbon Support Network that we created a seven days ago. The EFA Pink Ribbon Support Network is made up of various residents and business owners, who have generously agreed to house a collection box. To all of you thank you so very much – without you, this would have been challenging, if not impossible.

The EFA Fashion Week Charity Auction has received generous donation by the various residents and businesses listed below:

Thanks also go to Tigerlily Koi & Haedon Quine of Calla Hair who are supporting EFA Fashion Week by giving gift certficates to every person who donates L$ 200 to the collection box located at their store. Thanks also goes to members of the Cafe Society, which is a group of residents from FashConCafe and Fashion Emergency who will be throwing a parallel charity auction at the SS Galaxy as part of their inauguration event.

Tonight will be successful if you guys show up and bid and show your support for a good cause. The rest depends on you.

The Ewing Fashion Agency would like to thank all of those who have mde this possible, including Second Style Magazine who have supported this from the beginning and [hoorenbeek] Quality Clothing for men.

On the 22nd of October, the Ewing Fashion Agency will be launching the first in a series of four sessions called models’ question time in which models can ask what ever questions they need to ask about the industry, getting work, marketing themselves – developement, salary expectations and so on. This session is free as part of the agency’s commitment to social development and will be conducted by Skpyecast.

Please read the following entry to register for participation information.

Today Shai Delacroix and Megg Demina premiered their amazing new collections at day 4 of the EFA fashion week. Both designers worked exceptionally hard on these new releases – some of which are still not available in-world. The quality, texturing and arrangement is admirable. It was a great show and other designers, such as Callie Cline and Second Style publisher Celebrity Trollop were amongst the guests. Photos of another amazing evening at the EFA FAshion Week have been provided for you viewing pleasure.
