ZAARA

A few months back, I happened upon a shop that was named ZAARA.  I was shopping with my best friend Katalina Michalak.  We love to explore and find new designers, that have extraordinary designs and colours that pop. 

When I walked into the shop, I was blown over by the beauty, colour and intricacy of the clothing and jewelry that I saw before me.  I related to it all and fell passionately in love with everything.  I went into a shopping frenzy and bought almost every item in the fat packs.  Walked out and never even quibbled about all that I had just bought or what I had spent.  IT WAS WORTH IT!

Now that I am writing for the EFA fashion blog, I wanted to blog Zaara and the magnificent clothing and jewelery line that she offers.  When I put on a Zaara made fashion, I always grab the attention of others, who what to know where I got such beautifully layered designs with colour that will knock your socks off.  I was wearing the kavi top in pink last evening with the jeweled jeans, my partner Dolphin Robson, could not keep his eyes off of me and told me several times, how well put together I looked.  The blouse look amazingly soft and flowing.  Now I don’t know about the rest of you, but when a man will notice and comment, then you know you are wearing something very special.

Two honorable mentions will each receive an Angel Dessous store gift card and a 10% discount to the Ewing Elite Model Training Program (subject to acceptance to the program).

All photos are to be of models in Angel Dessous lingerie.  Selection will be based on model looks, styling and creativity.

DP Serendipity

Serendipity is the effect by which one accidentally discovers something fortunate, especially while looking for something else entirely.

Well, that’s exactly what happened.  All I wanted was a great fitting white tee… wasn’t looking for anything else, just a white tee (I don’t think you can ever have enough of them).  I searched high and low and my feet were killing me but I just had to walk into one more store… DP Serendipity.  I took a deep breath and ventured in.  I was automatically drawn to the cute denim capris, then the button down henleys and the bra and panty sets.  The “Cut Sewn” tops right next to the lingerie sets caught my eye.  They match!   All the clothes looked so comfortable and soft, cute and casual.  Then I saw the dresses, perfect for the upcoming warm weather.  All in great colors and patterns.  My shopping list now went beyond the simple white tee.

Masuri Dryke of DP Serendipity from Tokyo, Japan is a designer that feels comfortable and casual clothing is essential.  Her casual clothing also sports just a touch of attitude.   Her Attitude Love T’ees were created to “express a girl’s confidence without being bitchy”. 

The Love Comes And Goes tee (in orange) is part of the Attitude Love Tees line.  Here you will find it paired with the DPS 802 denim capris in bronze.  A great fitting low rise jean in a variety of colors.

I’m in love.

It’s an ongoing affair, I guess, and very healthy… I swear. I’m not breaking up any homes or obsessing constantly. I’m not starving myself or driving slowly past the house at 2 AM to make sure you’re at home or anything. None of that. No, I’m currently in the middle of a very deep, very satisfying, very passionate love affair with Second Life.

It started pretty much instantly too, call it love at first sight. Oh, sure there are imperfections, just like all the best loves, but what it comes down to is potential. I’m in love with the potential of things, and specifically that thing we call Second Life.

However you choose to define it, you get out what you put in, and I’m always happy to see something gorgeous shared with the rest of us. Even better, I’m ecstatic when there’s a deeper meaning to it, when the potential of our favorite metaverse is recognized and used. It’s how I feel about Leezu Baxter’s Revolution Pan dress.

The recreation of the Texas Capital Building located in Antiquity Texas is a masterful build and well worth a visit just to see it.  If you look real close you can see me standing on the front the steps.  This gives you an indication of the scale of this amazing building.

But what should make Second Life fashionistas all the more interested is what’s hidden within.  Upon arriving at the sim, walk over or teleport to the capital building and enter the main door.  Once inside, continnue straight ahead to the rotunda then turn down the east wing to find the treasure.  What you will see is finely crafted jewelry by one of the principles of Antiquity Texas, Jacon Cortes. 

Most of the jewelry, which is finely crafted and very detailed, is sold in the east wing of the Texas Capital building.  Pictured above is the latest set called the Eye of Ra.  This set of red diamonds and platinum includes the necklace, earrings, bracelet and ring shown.  All the jewelryis made of individual tiny prims as all high quality jewelry is and the textures and colors are all very realistic.

Have you been thinking about training for the exciting world of fashion modeling?  Do you wonder what it takes to become a successful model in Second Life?

Here’s your chance to be trained by some of the best models in Second Life. The instructors of the Ewing Elite Model Training Program are pleased to announce the start of its next session on Monday, Apri 13, 2009.  Class sessions are planned for 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM SLT, enrollment permitting, running from April 13 through April 24, 2009. Classes will consist of three sessions per week meeting on Monday, Wednesday and Friday plus at least two runway workshops per week. The cost for the course is L$10,000.  All serious aspiring models, male and female are invited to interview. Please contact  Tiffany Dragonash or Tammy Trommler if you wish to be considered.  Also, please submit a short bio about yourself and your interests.

 Interview periods will be held Thursday, April 9th and Friday, April 10th from 12PM to 3PM SLT and Satuday, April 11th from 7AM to 10AM SLT. Each interview is expected to last thirty minutes. If invited to interview, you will be given a location and be expected to dress professionally and appropriately for the world of fashion modeling. After all interviews are finished, successful applicants will be notified and invited to register for classes. More information on the training course can be found at the EFA website.
