Neferia Abel is a well-known Second Life designer.  Her Ivalde store has been an important destination for lovers of retro, vintage and period designs for a long time.  But Neferia has always done current fashion as well.  Despite this, her success in the vintage areas has caused many to think of her and Ivalde as purely vintage fashions.  In order to combat this misconception, several months ago, Neferia decided to release her new modern clothing lines under a new name, L’Abel.  She is currently in the process of releasing her latest Autumn collection, several of which are presented below.  The L’Abel line of clothes is chic and sophisticated with clean lines and figure-flattering silhouettes.  This latest collection is wonderfully constructed with very detailed textures that are realistically highlighted.

Below are pictured five outfits from this collection.  The first form the left is the Vivvike  black glitter set.  the high waisted knee-length skirt is made of a beautiful sequined fabric.  The bodice is a shiny black satin with sulpted puff sleeves.  The scuplted black satin scarf is included.

Next is the gorgeouos black and gold Mellie gold, a short cocltail dress with hem of the multi-tiered skirt above the knee.  the texture is a nice organic brocade of golden leaves on black.  the shoulder cuffs are sculpted prims and the black satin gloves are included.

In the middle is the all black Arja, which combines a ruched satin bodice with a delicate tafetta knee-length skirt. the collar and shoulder cuffs are luxurious fur and black satin gloves are included.

Aleida Rhode is the creative force behind *Aleida* formally known as Fashion Nomads.  She is an accomplished model, photographer and now designer, opening her first store in March 2009.  I met up with Aleida at her store and what a delightful lady.  I was absolutely thrilled when gave me a sneak peek of several of her designs for Modavia Fashion Week.  All I can tell you is, they are fantastic!  You can see Aleida’s  wonderful new designs September 15th at 3:00pm SLT during Modavia Fashion Week.  You do not want to miss it!

Aleida Jinja top & konge pants

Here I am wearing Jinja II Flower Top in nougat and Konge pants in creme paired with Kampala stilettos in cocoa.  Notice the delicate floral on the fabric, so feminine.  The top comes with all layers and can be worn tucked as well.  The Konge pants have two options, loose fit and tight fit and include prim cuffs accentuated with tiny buttons.

Hello everyone.  Once a month, we will talk to one of our past graduates to catch up with them and see how are they are doing since graduating from EFA and show you their graduation photo and how they look today.

This month, I had the pleasure of talking with Sabine Blackburn.  What an incredible person!  She was so kind and gave me tons of tips and advice.  She is one busy lady.  Sabine is currently a model with Glance International Agency, Timeless Agency, Starlight Events, Berlin Models, Maniera Models, Elegance International Models Agency, DejaVu Modeling Agency, Beauté Mode Agency, Mannequin Couture Agency (Beauty Avatar), Einstein Model, Opium Fashion Agency, Ewing Fashion Agency and a finalist in the Miss Virtual World competition.

When did you graduate from EFA?

Sabine: Oh I won a picture contest at angel dressous in march and then I won like some discount on an EFA scholarship at this contest.  So I thought well try it.

Were you modeling before attending EFA?

Sabine: Yes, I didn’t need the training but you can always learn something new.  I mean I don’t want to sound arrogant but I was already modeling a lot then and I learned some things at the EFA school.  It was at 5pm and that is 2am for me.  That was a bit hard.  It was nice to meet new people too.  I like to do stylings and that was fun.

What inspired you to be a model?

Sabine: Well, the first contact I had with the modeling business is when I saw an ad for Miss Virtual World last year.  I tried that and saw I had a lot to learn and I love fashion.  I even love it more in rl now too.  I enter a lot of competitions and I win some fortunately.

Since graduating, has your training at Ewing helped you?

Sabine: Yes of course, I use what I learned there and didn’t know before.

YS&YS earrings

These chunky ivory earrings are my absolute favorite!  You can buy each piece separetely or the set which includes the necklace, two bracelets, earrings and flexi armbands.  They’re perfect for about any ocassion from formal to casual.  Monicuzza has a beautiful selection of jewelry.

What could be better than spending Summer in Milan?  How about wearing the latest in Summer fashion from MEB?  On June 23rd at its runway in Milano Vera, the Ewing Fashion Agency had the pleasure of presenting the latest releases from MariaElena Barbosa’s Summer line.  The show began with a selection of favorites from her Spring line to punctuate the exciting new designs seen in the latest releases.

MEB has long been known for producing stylish and fashionable clothing of casual and elegant styles.  This new line continues in that vein but adds a wonderful new palette of colors and artistic patterns.  Favored for their we arability and usefulness, MEB’s Summer line will be appreciated by regular customers and new ones alike.

The colection of minidress, skirts, pants and jackets was proudly and expertly deisplayed by the models while the enthusiastic crowd looked on.  It was evident that the new designs were well recieved as many people indicated a desire to have what they saw.  The new vibrant colors were much appreciated and are perfect for the liveliness of Summer.  MEB’s designs are always fun to wear and allow you to remain fashionable in any daily activity.  MariaElena has extended this philosophy in to this new season.  It won’t be long before you see these outfits all over the grid.

For those of you that haven’t yet seen these new releases, all are now available at MEB‘s main store as well as the many outlets around Second Life.  In addition to clothing for women, MEB also has shoes to match many of the designs and MariaElena has recently added jewelry as well.
