The Melena is a sexy two-toned gown with a diaphanous mermaid skirt.  The skirt and one side of the bodice are black, while the rest is in a contrasting lighter color that causes that desired second look.  Colors available are Pink, Aqua, Lavender, Sand, Nude and the Silver seen in the photos.  This gown is further enriched with intricate gold embroidery and lace and feather detailing on the single shoulder strap.  The matching armlets are part of th shirt layer top which allows for wearing glove layer nail polish necessary for that total glamorous look.

Aradhana Voight, owner of Mashooka Designs, continues to expand her offerings at a rapid pace.  As anyone who frequents her store knows, Mashooka Designs carries not only the authentic Indian styles it is famous for, but also casual and formal lines as well.  This past week, Aradhana added a range of new items, each available in a selection of wonderful colors.  Jewelry is an important aspect of Indian dress and Aradhana hasn’t ignored this fact.  She has also added to her ever-growing selection of Indian styled jewelry with a new release this week.

This casual look, above, combines the Gilet dress in metallic blue with the Tristin blouse in darkrose.  This dress, shown with the flexi A-line skirt option, can also be worn with a non-flex pencil skirt of the same length.  The Tristin blouse features semitransparent wrist cuffs and multiple layers.  Both the dress and blouse are wonderfully textured for realism.  The Gilet dress is also available in black, bordeaux, lilac and moss while the Tristin blouse also comes in beige, blue, light blue, ocean and red.  For a more daring look the dress can be worn alone with the wide shoulder straps offering just enough coverage.  Also worn for this photo is C’est si bon hair with hat from Vanity Hair and a Donnarama Gloss peach skin with make up 4 BK from Baiastice.

I adore the designs of Indyra Seigo because they are fun , very detailed, and always fashion forward. They are clearly the product of a great imagination and a passion for design. That being said, I decided to check out her newest design, Shirley Temple on the Rocks.

This fashionable and playful little number is a “cocktail” dress that boasts amazing details and a modern flair.

Indyra’s creative design is also reminiscent of the adorable little dresses worn by the 1930s child star for whom the drink is named. But make no mistake, this Indyra Original is modern and all grown up. The corseted black and white bodice laces in the back and the cinched waist is further accentuated with an edgy multi-strap belt that fits perfectly. The skirt features a tartan petticoat that moves effortlessly when you walk. Splashes of red in the underskirt, belt buckles, and the cherry red button near the “top” of the shoulder give this dress the perfect boost of color !

If you are looking for a fun and flirty dress for your wardrobe, “Shirley Temple on the Rocks” is certain to quench your thirst. However, you will not find this dress at Indyra Originals. It was made to be sold exclusively at Starlight Exclusives is a new, upscale boutique that will feature original and exclusive creations from several of SL’s finest fashion designers. Neferia Abel is a well-known Second Life designer.  Her Ivalde store has been an important destination for lovers of retro, vintage and period designs for a long time.  But Neferia has always done current fashion as well.  Despite this, her success in the vintage areas has caused many to think of her and Ivalde as purely vintage fashions.  In order to combat this misconception, several months ago, Neferia decided to release her new modern clothing lines under a new name, L’Abel.  She is currently in the process of releasing her latest Autumn collection, several of which are presented below.  The L’Abel line of clothes is chic and sophisticated with clean lines and figure-flattering silhouettes.  This latest collection is wonderfully constructed with very detailed textures that are realistically highlighted.

Below are pictured five outfits from this collection.  The first form the left is the Vivvike  black glitter set.  the high waisted knee-length skirt is made of a beautiful sequined fabric.  The bodice is a shiny black satin with sulpted puff sleeves.  The scuplted black satin scarf is included.

Next is the gorgeouos black and gold Mellie gold, a short cocltail dress with hem of the multi-tiered skirt above the knee.  the texture is a nice organic brocade of golden leaves on black.  the shoulder cuffs are sculpted prims and the black satin gloves are included.

In the middle is the all black Arja, which combines a ruched satin bodice with a delicate tafetta knee-length skirt. the collar and shoulder cuffs are luxurious fur and black satin gloves are included.

Recently I attended a fashion show for a designer I had never heard of.  There are so many designers in Second Life, that this wasn’t an extraordinary occurance.  I had gotten my first look a the works of a designer unknown to me a number of times before.  What was different in this case was that this ws not a new designer, but one that has been around for some time, producing very unique clothing of excellent quality and detail.  Thea Tamura and her TTFashion brand may not be well known but I think that is about to change.  She has been a Second Life designer or some time and has ventured into most areas of design, including clothing, shoes, boots, hair and jewelry for both women men.  What immediately catches one’s eye are the intricate and expertly done textures on the clothes.  The patterns and colors are outstanding and placed with thought to achieve the desired effect.  Beyond the textures, Thea also creates unique styles.  Her prim additions to the clothing are more than just flared skirts and cuffs.  Pictured below is the MINHA Dress.

This dress is a good example of both Thea’s texture work and use of prims.  The prim skirt is more than just a repetition of similarly textured parts.  Patterns are used to create the illusion of openings and pleats.  In addition, the prims of the skirt are meticulously layered and positioned to create a more life-like fullness and movement.  It also extends up above the waist to the lower torso so that the dress seems more of a whole.  Nice details are added in the prim collar and even a prim fabric draping on the back.  The matchig hat is made with the hair as part, thus offering this complete look.

Aradhana Voight of Mashooka Designs is possibly best know for her fantastic and authentic Indian designs, but regular shoppers at her store know that she does much more.  Recently, she released a new spring line.  This new line is a wonderful mix of Indian and Western styles, covering the full gamut from casual to formal. Texturing in Second Life clothing design has reallyadvanced over recent weeks, in the amount of detail and true to life shading, and Aradhana is keeping right up with the state of the art.  This level of quality combined with her sense of style and the wonderful color pallette she uses, makes for a truely exciting spring selection.

Pictured above are a couple of variations of the Linda denim skirt paired with the new Indian Summer Tunic.   The tunic comes with a number of options, just a couple of which are seen here.  The base top has the long and short sleeve versions on both the shirt and jacket layer and can be worn alone for a tight fit, or with one of the optional prim attachemnts for a looser fit.  Included is a prim collar and sculpty-prim puff sleeves (not pictured) as additional options.  Besides the Pink and Beige shown here, other colors available are Green, Lime, Red and Sea.  Both lengths of the Linda skirt are available in various denim shades.

Since I was a very young girl I have always loved the elegance of vintage clothing. Neferia Abel, owner and designer of Ivalde Designs has been bringing that elegance into Second Life for awhile now. Neferia has truly set the bar high with the great attention to detail, lush beautiful textures of  clothing &  don’t get me started on the delicious skins. Knowing the quality of her work I got really excited when I found out through EFA’s Tiffany Dragonash that Neferia had decided to expand and work on new more modern designs perfect for every woman with a totally new brand, “L’Abel.  ” Slipping on these new masterpieces I am in awe!  They were everything I imagined and more, sexy, sophisticated, and just simple knock down beautiful. I got to chat with Neferia and she is a sweet person and I am so happy to have met her.

Temperance Moonites: What’s in store for L’Abel and is there anything exciting coming up you would like us to know about?

Neferia Abel: I have a few exciting projects in the works! I will be redesigning the store next week, giving it a more updated, fresh appearance. I’m also going to start designing more contemporary clothing, giving as much attention to design there as I do to my other lines.
