Simone! Ice Princess

Simone! Ice Princess

They say love is not measured by how it makes you feel, but by how you make the other person feel.  If that’s the case, then Simone Stern truly loves us.   Simone! Designs has released an exquisite new gown called the Ice Princess, that will not only kindle sparks of romance, but will make you feel like royalty.

When I first started Second Life back in March of 2006, one of the first places I discovered for quality clothing at reasonable prices was Simone! DesignsSimone Stern has been around Second Life since December 2004, so she’s no stranger when it comes to clothing design.  That quickly becomes apparent when you teleport to her store and your eyes gaze upon the vibrant colors and wonderfully detailed designs.  Some of those designs you can check out at her store, Simone! Designs and her blog by the same name.

No wardrobe is complete without a formal gown and Simone! Designs does not disappoint.  Sensual yet classy, the Ice Princess comes in several different colors — Green (not pictured), Champagne, Red, Purple, Silver, Pink and Blue (not pictured) as well as several different wearing options.  Feeling a tad more formal, you can wear the belle flexi skirt or if you want to feel a bit more sexy, you could slip on the flexi train skirt.  It also comes with gloves for that more sophisticated look.

This isn’t called the Ice Princess for nothing…plenty of skin showing to allure any man to embrace you to warm you up.  With the highly detailed halter top, criss-crossing jewels across the midriff and seductive bare back, you will be sure to set the right mood for that romantic evening.  A must have for any wardrobe.

Zuri’s Valentine’s Day outfit - front

So, for this week’s blog, I wanted to show off an outfit that I would want to wear for Valentine’s Day. I headed over to Simone and saw this heart themed dress that I instantly thought would do nicely in representing this special holiday.

This strapless dress is beautiful, with a lacy skirt that peeks out from underneath. I especially like the little heart cutout on the bust that shows off the cleavage without being too sexy. Lacy gloves add a nice touch to the ensemble, giving the overall outfit a playful look. And note, stockings to match with cute adornments of hearts! Put on a heart necklace and voilàs! Instant Valentine’s Day outfit to woo your special sweetheart in!

Chambre du Chocolat Couture , a new emerging line of high style and unique wearable art presents its first couture item, the Fishook Dress.

I’d like to introduce Eshi Otawara, a new edgy and daring designer, whose work aims at womanessence and style. Her way of complimenting the woman who doesn’t need bling or flashy things touched me. Here is how she described her piece:

“The concept of the dress is to put emphasis on the character of the one who wears it. It deliberately conceals the figure with a jet black matte set of undergarments and uses the physical properties of the skirts to ‘fish in’ not only ‘looks’ but all existing attention. The usage of fishook stencil sends out a direct message, “If you come close, you WILL get ‘hooked’ !”- very bold and direct. The more graceful the movement of the one who wears it, the more seductively the dress flows spreading out into a wild flower shape, splitting itself into wing-like shapes or, even, an aura-like halo which slowly settles back in place.”

One minus point though, the dress is limited edition ( like most of her work), so run there NOW!

I am a true lover of vintage clothing, particularly the dresses from the forties and fifties. So too, it seems, is new designer Miko Omegamu of Icing.
I frequent Miko’s store often, and I always come away feeling satisfied that I have purchased a high quality outfit. Often, Miko adds an extra surprise like a fur stole, a stack of books, a beautiful brooch or a pretty flower for your hair.
When you step inside her store you see a beautiful array of vintage masterpieces – glamorous gowns, cocktail dresses, tea-length frocks, stylish trousers, sixties pedal pushers and baby doll delights – you name it. I decided on this particular outfit, called Silver Screen, because it perfectly portrays my favourite era, the fifties (“Hollywood-style” of course).

A sparkling, silver sensation complete with fox stole, this beautiful ensemble exudes that golden-age with ease – sweet, sexy and gorgeously glamorous! I have added yet more glamour by wearing red lipstick (Linda from PXL), pearl earrings, bracelet and choker (Claris from Muse), white stockings (No.9 Nylons) and a darling pair of silver shoes from Aphrodite Creations. The hair Juliana from ETD finishes the look perfectly. I feel like a million dollars!

So, if you are like me and love to indulge yourself in Hollywood fantasies, then step into your own film set by visiting Icing today.

You never know who you might become.

Valentine’s Day is exactly three weeks from now and I like to start early in picking the best outfit for the occasion. I have been wanting to try on the Echo Gown from Miriel for some time and it’s a good reason to do so now. Echo comes in 17 different colors, all beautifully designed in dual tones. In the photo, I am wearing Miriel’s favorite color – Latte. I love how the top is cut and the shades of brown, both do fabulously well in enhancing fair skin. The color fades into white at the bottom of the skirt, giving an impression of volume and height. Dressed in the Echo gown I feel elegance with a touch of vintage that had me dreaming about it even in Real Life. I trust that the Echo Gown will also be a favorite of yours, bound to dazzle whoever you are with.

I paired the gown with a pair of yellow brown pump and made very little effort in accessorizing, with a simple pair of gold/diamond necklace and bracelet. The Armidi Soho updo is perfect in enhancing the overall sophisticated look.

Now…I just need a date…..

Finally relatively sane after my one day’s down time after the award’s show, I can sit back and reflect more on the beauty and wonder of the event. Nearly everyone wore their SL-Oscar best; beautiful and breath taking.

In keeping with the awards ceremony tradition, we too were dressed to the splendid nines. Helping me with this was none other than Leezu Baxter, of LBD – LeeZu Baxter Designs. I was so excited when she had offered to create something for me; so honored to be able to wear one of my favorite designers on such a momentous occasion. The gown was an elegant black, floor length number in the same style as her recently released Kali Flexi Dress. Leezu’s carte blanche, though, added just that special touch to make it even more glamorous from the gold, bronze and white texture to the gold sequined bustier and body overlay on chest, belly and leg.

While the evening was very much about the prize winning designers, I could not help but walk away feeling like a winner myself. I look forward to next year!

It should be said that Elikapeka Tiramisu of her self-named ETD brand of products is one of the most prolific, quality-oriented designers in Second Life. It is with great pleasure that I bring you a review of one of her newest hair designs called “Ashley” (released to the public on October 20, 2007).

“Ashley” is a beautifully simple style, a coif for those who value elegance and taste in a complete reversal of the normal tawdry styles so seemingly favored by the less fashion-forward masses. Its delicately swooping bangs and curling, romantic tendrils frame the face, while an unseen pin seems to draw the hair back into a light, comfortable bun. It is a look that works equally well for a casual day out in your favorite jeans and t-shirt as well as a dinner date later on in the evening.

As with all ETD hair, “Ashley” comes in an astounding array of colors and options. For a mere 150L$, you will have purchased a hair so versatile and lovely, you won’t ever want to take it off.

(And, while you’re there – check out ETD’s newest 1L$ hairstyle called Phoebe. It’s a chic half-up, half-down hairdo that would easily vamp up any outfit).

Next, from designer Nyte Caligari of Nyte’N’Day, I present “Nisse” (released to the public on October 24, 2007). It is an attractive, flowing gown with intense attention to detail. From the knotwork on each strap to the delicate embellishment lining the top and midsection, it is a quality dress that is charming in any setting.

For 215L$, you receive both a long  top and a daring, midriff-baring top, as well as two versions of the skirt portion – one in a normal flexi design and the other in their SensiDress version. (For those who don’t know, SensiDress is a system used by Nyte’N’Day in which the dress follows your movements as you stand, sit, and walk so that your dress does not reveal your legs underneath.) Eight luscious colors are available. Buy one of the two purple versions available and Nyte’N’Day will donate 100% of the proceeds to Lupus Canada for research. At such a low price, it is an incredible deal.
