I was living a kind of lazy housewife life for a long time… until last Saturday. I received an email from Jennifer Delano of JenJenPR, asking me of I was willing to join the organisation of  a simultaneous reallife – Secondlife fashion show. This time the event will take place in the hot and steamy Club NL in Amsterdam during a party of the über cute Johnny de Mol! I shifted  some dust away from my housewife life and said yes! Of course I want!

Because EFA is not able to host this event for now, I was glad that Patty Cortes, Glance International Agency, was very enthusiastic and willing to take the challenge with me to turn this RL-SL event, like First Fusion, Syntopia and EFA-AIFW2009, into an unforgetable experience. Together with her spirit, the designs of Convoitise and our experience with RL-SL events we will present you a party that can not be missed!

Stay tuned for more news!

EFA is proud to announce that we are now an official partner of The Artist Advice. EFA worked together with The Artist Advice for the EFA-First Fusion show, the first RL-SL simultaneous fashion show. After this big success new idea’s were generated. Which will lead to a next event at the Amsterdam Fashion Week in January 2009.

The Artist Advice gives advice, coaches and provides management for artists such as: models, actors, dancers, singers, extras, make-up artists, stylists, photographers, bands, dj’s and other artists. The Artist Advice has been founded by Jennifer Delano in 2005. Today the team consists of seven motivated employees and from our offices in Amsterdam the careers of hundreds of artists are being managed. The mission of The Artist Advice is to help artists getting started and to keep artist working, using their own strengths.

EFA is looking forward to a close relationship which will make it possible to promote real life fashion in Second Life, resulting in not to miss unique and exciting events.

Just a few hours before First Fusion starts, the event area is ready. This time we did not make the runway ourself, but it was done by our head sponsor First Meta.

I asked Joy Laperierre a few questions about the work thay have done the last week to make First Fusion unforgetable.

Can you give a short introduction of First Meta and what First Meta does?

Joy: First Meta is the first real financial service provider for virtual economies positioned to be a bank and more. First Meta is the 1st to provide full suite of financial products and services, denominated in virtual currencies, to Second Life and other virtual economies. The company’s first product, the MetaCard a Linden Dollar – denominated credit card was launched on 31-July 2007. We are a real-world company, registered in Singapore, one of the financial centers of the world. Firt Meta’s operations are supported by the Singapore goverment and we are funded by real-world private investors, not by our customer’s deposits.

What inspired you for building this event area?

Joy: I have to say, First Fusion is an unique event simulcasted from RL at Amsterdam’s fashionable De Balie located at Leidseplein. This inspired us to portray how Real World embraces Second Life

Why does First Meta wants to join First Fusion?

Joy: First Meta finds First Fusion an interesting event that could reach out to the masses with some help and also it has been a joy working with the amazing people behind the success of Ewing Fashion Agency

Take an innovative real life company like Femis Fashion, four very talented SL designers and creative fashion agency and you get First Fusion! EFA is proud to be in collaboration with the likes of Nicky Ree, Sysy Chapman, Indira Bekkers and Aphrodite Outlander to create this ground-breaking project. All four ladies are well-known, established designers in the fashion world and when approached to participate, didn’t hesitate and jumped right in. This displays their pioneering spirit as the clothes being showcased will not be their own.

In DecembEFA - The Artist Adviceer 2007 Jennifer Delano drew the attention of the ducth media Ewing Fashion Agency when attempted one month experiment involving being locked up in a house with nothing, but the Internet. Now the owner of the Amsterdam-based The Artist Advice is working with EFA on First Fusion.

The Artist Advice is a consultancy agency based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.  The agency manages the careers and development of many artists and models – many of whom were part of the line-up for the last Amsterdam International Fashion week.

Femis Fashion is a ducth based design house responsible for the creations that will be show-cased during the show. First Fusion‘s theme will reflect the changing seasons, nationalities and cultures and worlds. The eventwill be televised and streamed at the real-world location called De Balie. Joining this event are four of Second Life’s top designers, including Nicky Ree.

Jennifer: “Until now I experienced this event as a special and unique experience and I am very grateful for getting the change to do this. It will be exciting to see the final result on 25th February, when I can not only see my show, but the Second Life show on a screen on the runway in Amsterdam. I really think that Internet will be more and more important in the future. Also the work involved with The Artist Advice is almost completely digital and very much connected to the Internet. For me, this event can mean a big step forwards in the digital future!”
