I am back to present some more fabulous Summer fashions to you. I hope you had a great week with the various shows, SL5B events and everything else, as I did. You have an even better week up ahead, though!

I’m starting this week with this pink and white ready to wear dress, which has recently been released from Armidi as part of their “Color me Summer” collection. The dress is available in many other summer colors such as green, blue, white/black, yellow, etc (All of the Armidi colors!). Together with the collection, there are also bangles in matching colors and for this I wore the pink version of the bangles. The Skirt is nicely sculpted to fit the any avatar and to compliment the skirts short but big poof shape, I added a thick white belt from M*A*ii*K*I. Matching pink Slinky Stilettos are from Maitreya and available in many other colors.

I’ve prepared these three Summer inspired outfits for you all to view and be inspired by yourself, in order to create your own Summer wardrobe. Summer is an amazing time of year, especially for fashion lovers, and it’s time you really expressed to the SL-world your own sexy style!

LeeZu Baxter Designs is a successful design firm creating women´s clothing and accessories, owned by LeeZu Baxter, the designer herself, and Suzi Phlox. Not that long ago, they also released clothing for men. They design, manufacture and sell their own creations in-world and they are also selling them in their eight retail outlets and through SL Boutique. LBD offer three lines: low budget, ready-to-wear and designer originals.

The people behind LeeZu Baxter Designs are well-known for their originality and incredible creations in Second life. Their designs are original simply because they do not copy or get ideas from the real life fashion world. When I met LeeZu Baxter for my interview, she said: “I never read any RL fashion magazine, nor do I follow the trends in real world, and it is the reason why people don’t know what I will present next time.”.In other words, they rock the SL fashion world with their unique and incredible outfits and never fail to get attention.

I met LeeZu a while back and asked her some questions:

Aleida Rhode: What is the most typical “problem” you have faced within the SL fashion industry? (Ex. Copyright, texture thefts etc. just to mention a few)

LeeZu Baxter: First of all, I have a Linden problem – with their templates. To have only one arm that mirrors the other one is too stupid. Also, this program (SL) still has a lot of other issues about it that prevent displaying fashion or ideas in a perfect way.

Aleida Rhode: What is your vision for the future as a SL fashion designer?

LeeZu Baxter: Perfect ionizing this program to be more flexible in designing fashion here. It’s a great market place to test what people really would like to wear without all the regressions in RL.

Aleida Rhode: How much do RL fashion trends influence your creations?

LeeZu Baxter: I don’t read RL fashion magazines, neither do I know about what designer is creating what, except when I see it accidently, as I hate it to be influenced by them. That would not be creativity then. I know the basic things or the golden line in fashion since I know it as a media designer also. I don’t need outside influence.

LeeZu Baxter Designs is proud to announce the opening of  our brand new Main Store on our new island home. The island is called To The Nines and famed architect JeanRicard Broek has created a fantastic new look for our LBD Designers’ Village.

The huge LBD main store has a full selection of  all our great designs plus we are pleased to announce the introduction of our new menswear line BOYS.

Our top designers and artists will be making this move with us: Minnu Model Skins, Enkythings Shoes, Evely Lane Photography, Ewing Fashion Agency, Sky Hye Art and Nikolaidis photography with more to come in the near future.

The fun starts at 10AM Saturday morning the First of March and goes on until evening, ending with a spectacular fireworks show and dancing under the stars.  Some of SL’s top performers and DJ’s will be there for your entertainment.    At noon there will be a fashion show featuring LeeZu Baxter’s creations and MAD Agency Models. There will be an hourly prize drawing for one of her designs throughout the day.

In addition to the fine art shows at the Sky Hye and Nikolaidis Galleries the LBD Village is hosting a very special exhibit from eight of the top SL fashion photographers .  This exhibit will focus on how each artist sees a a model wearing LBD .

Don’t miss the very special 100L LBD Limited Edtion dress created especially for the Kiva Organization.  Half of the proceeds from the sale of this dress will go to this wonderful international non-profit group giving micro loans that empower the poor in developing nations.

Finally relatively sane after my one day’s down time after the award’s show, I can sit back and reflect more on the beauty and wonder of the event. Nearly everyone wore their SL-Oscar best; beautiful and breath taking.

In keeping with the awards ceremony tradition, we too were dressed to the splendid nines. Helping me with this was none other than Leezu Baxter, of LBD – LeeZu Baxter Designs. I was so excited when she had offered to create something for me; so honored to be able to wear one of my favorite designers on such a momentous occasion. The gown was an elegant black, floor length number in the same style as her recently released Kali Flexi Dress. Leezu’s carte blanche, though, added just that special touch to make it even more glamorous from the gold, bronze and white texture to the gold sequined bustier and body overlay on chest, belly and leg.

While the evening was very much about the prize winning designers, I could not help but walk away feeling like a winner myself. I look forward to next year!
