AZUL

Hello all and welcome to my weekly blog.  I thought to myself, “Tammy, here it is June the Wedding Month, I think wedding gowns are in order.”  More than that, here we go.

I was talking with my good friend Mami Jewell, owner of Azul, about working with Ewing in a fasion show a couple of weeks ago.  She got right in with us and wow did she ever blow the top off the place with her fashions.  Then the icing on the cake, was her new Wedding Dress line.  Absolutely devine.  Since not all of you were able to make the show, I want to do a show of my own.  If you want the totaly “WOW” factor at your wedding and make your fiance’s eye’s bug out, then here ya go, as all eyes will be on you.

Nothing can make an outfit so desirable as a good picture. It makes you search for your wallet and want to put on your coat to get away with your copy.  When you have it, you try to recapture the image of the picture while trying the outfit on yourself, wanting the stunning look like the model had and hoping for the feeling it first invoked.  This is one of the reasons that a good designer cannot live without a good fashion photographer.

Connie Arida is such a fashion photographer.  With her sexy blond look and her perfect feeling for styling, she makes every outfit a piece to die for.  How does she do this?  Time to have a talk with her and to introduce her to you, because you will be seeing more work from her on the EFA blog.  She responded to my call for participation in the EFA-AIFW2009 and henceforth will be our official event photographer for this show.

EFA - Connie Sec - fav1It's done in my home, at my dressing table, it's simple, direct and I look real (to me).

Left: My Artilleri Cha Cha Pants, one of my earliest purchases in SL, that red Primouth car, the unusual baked on hair on the skin, the totally Modded hair made into a Pony, and it’s a featured pic in the Global Artists Flickr Group. It’s my past, my present and appreciation from Photographers outside of SL that makes it special.

Who is Connie Arida or must I say Connie Sec?

In 1st life, I’m a student studying Environmental Science after completing my Lab Technology diploma.  Arida is my SL surname..and Sec is my Flickr Surname…’cos I’ll always be “Just a sec”.  ( yea yea..weak joke). I live in Sydney, Australia, and have been in SL since April 2007. While I am an SL photography addict, my 1st life does come first and I made a promise to myself a long while back that SL and 1st life would not mix. My Flickr is where I post all my pics, though I do post some to Koinup, and Facebook..and others. My Blog is just my fashion shots, with a list of the outfits and accesories and where thay are from.  I like to feature lesser known or new designers if I can. Basically, I like to help out. I don’t charge 99% of the time. Apart from that, I spend time with my SL partner, see my SL sister and friends, furnish my home, terraform and don’t get out as much as I should. I hit the Big 30 a while back ( Runs to the edge of the grid, and jumps)

Watch out with jumping, I am already laying there! When did you start with fashion photography?

I started Flickr in about the middle of 07 as a sort of everyday record of the happenings in my SL life. Over time, it’s morped into clothes, “Art” and silliness. I love SL fashion and like to find things that I like ( especially from little known designers) and photograph them. I mainly do it for my own pleasure and relaxation…it’s better than writing a scientific report with Harvard referencing 🙂

We have been requested to make a review of Anubis Style designed by Anubis Hartunian. Here we are, Kenny and I, we went together to her shop – in RL, we would have picked more than one set and would have tried them out in dressing rooms, but unfortunately it isn’t like that in SL.

One thing we both agreed on was that the designs and creations were very nice. Since Kenny immediately fell in love with the “Manhattan” suit, I wanted to pick something for me that suited his style and went for “Black Swan,” which is a nice black dress for ballroom occasions. And for the male part, I have to admit, that he is so hot in that suit, so I need to ask: Kenny, wow, you look amazing, could you tell me a little about how you manage to look this good?

Thank you Aleida. Yes, we really look hot in these outfits. It’s the high quality that makes it so special. I feel very comfortable wearing this suit. I love the mix of casual and formal appearance. That also makes it a versatile look you can wear for almost any occasion. Anubis Style is a must have in everyone’s wardrobe.

When I joined SL nearly a year ago, I coincidently landed on Tableau where Paper Couture have their shop and I admired the designs and creativity. Being my curious self, I researched through the designer’s profile and found out that Paper Couture consists of a group of the very talented Lu sisters. They have since then been my absolute favorite designers. By the way, Paper Couture and its designs remind me very much of the real life British designer John Galliano both ín colour and style.

I have been waiting for a very long time for the Lu sisters to release their next collection. I kept my eyes open all the time and finally they announced their Spring 2008 collection. YAY! I was quick enough to go to Tableu as soon as I logged in and I don’t know what happened to me – I have to admit it : I’m a Paper Couture shopaholic! Yes, I think I bought the whole collection – well, no, but nearly 🙂

For today’s post, I have only picked 2 sets of their entire collection, “Divinchy” and “Rosette,” so stay tuned, because next week I will be bringing 2 other sets from my PC to you!

What I see in “Divinchy”: The big hat makes you feel like a Diva whatever you’re wearing. The design and details are awesome. Prims are sculpted well, depending on your avatars body, you may adjust them a little to make them fit better. The style reminds me of “The three musketeers” from the 16th century. There is something interesting about the black bag – as soon you are wear it, a message pops up asking: “Would you like to animate your avatar?” By saying yes, the bag moves smoothly along with your movement and for photo shoots, where you have to be on a posestand or have your hud on, I recommend hitting “no”, else you will look funny with the bag while posing.
