In the world of fashion, people are always looking for new and fresh.  Often times it is found with the discovery of a new talented designer, which causes us to constantly search for unheralded names.   But the truly talented continue to turn out fresh ideas regularly.  In our quest for new we shouldn’t make the mistake of ignoring those we already know and one to whom we need always pay attention is Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice.  Sissy has been around the Second Life fashion scene for a number of years and over that time has been on of the leaders in creativity and talent.  Besides her constant innovations in clothing of many styles, she has also branched into other areas including skins, lingerie, shoes, lashes and nails.  Below are several outfits recently available and photographed at various locations around the Costa Rica Sims where a Baiastice store is also located.  All are shown with Baiastice skins as well.

This first couture ensemble, above, is the BlackAndrea dress, perfect for admiring the art works at the Criss Museum of Contemporary Art in Alajuela.  The strapless bodice and knee-length pencil skirt form a classy and feminine silhouette.  The hat adds a modern flair while the included gloves and stockings are keeping with the classic feel.  The skin here is Baiastice_D. Casting-Peach-make up 10 BK.  The look is completed with Laqroki Cutie hair in black, Stiletto Moody Pinups in Black Patent Python and Necklace No 128 [small] and Earrings No 127 in silver from Kraftika.

It’s always nice to find a store that makes you want to visit frequently. You start aisle by aisle, picking out what you will buy, and what’s going to be your future purchase. Once you join the update group and you know what the newest hot items are, they must be added to the list too, or be bought. Maybe I should just IM the owner and ask for a flat rate, one of each to go?!

LeeZu Baxter Designs is a successful design firm creating women´s clothing and accessories, owned by LeeZu Baxter, the designer herself, and Suzi Phlox. Not that long ago, they also released clothing for men. They design, manufacture and sell their own creations in-world and they are also selling them in their eight retail outlets and through SL Boutique. LBD offer three lines: low budget, ready-to-wear and designer originals.

The people behind LeeZu Baxter Designs are well-known for their originality and incredible creations in Second life. Their designs are original simply because they do not copy or get ideas from the real life fashion world. When I met LeeZu Baxter for my interview, she said: “I never read any RL fashion magazine, nor do I follow the trends in real world, and it is the reason why people don’t know what I will present next time.”.In other words, they rock the SL fashion world with their unique and incredible outfits and never fail to get attention.

I met LeeZu a while back and asked her some questions:

Aleida Rhode: What is the most typical “problem” you have faced within the SL fashion industry? (Ex. Copyright, texture thefts etc. just to mention a few)

LeeZu Baxter: First of all, I have a Linden problem – with their templates. To have only one arm that mirrors the other one is too stupid. Also, this program (SL) still has a lot of other issues about it that prevent displaying fashion or ideas in a perfect way.

Aleida Rhode: What is your vision for the future as a SL fashion designer?

LeeZu Baxter: Perfect ionizing this program to be more flexible in designing fashion here. It’s a great market place to test what people really would like to wear without all the regressions in RL.

Aleida Rhode: How much do RL fashion trends influence your creations?

LeeZu Baxter: I don’t read RL fashion magazines, neither do I know about what designer is creating what, except when I see it accidently, as I hate it to be influenced by them. That would not be creativity then. I know the basic things or the golden line in fashion since I know it as a media designer also. I don’t need outside influence.

What’s the best way to make a business outfit look chic and sexy? Two words: Loosen up! This simple, white shirt from !X2 comes in two versions – semi opened and fully opened. It has finely crafted prim cuffs and a handsomely shaded texture. The pants are from !X2, as well. They also come in two versions – striped or plain. I decided to go ahead and wear a tie, just to stay in my bosses good graces. This one is from Valiant and came with the Relax Blue Shirt. I chose these black, City Walk shoes from Shiny Things to complete the outfit. So what do you say, Una? Can I wear this to the office on “Casual Friday?”

One of the things I love most about Second Life is that it allows us to experiment and to find new ways to express our inner selves – or just our current moods – through fashion. You can go from sophisticated businessman to sun tanned beach bum in a matter of seconds. This week, I wanted to try something really different: I wanted to get in touch with my inner emo. (more…)

Butterflies in my stomach. Sweaty palms. I can’t write! Except summoning the energy I have to put together this couple themed ensembles for you. Hope you like them as much as I do.

Puppy Love

ARGRACE, owned by a lovely couple (AIR Winx & Rika Oyen), just opened its mainstore at the Zushi sim on 2 February with a variety of unisex/couple items, ranging from caskets to jackets to a bed. Yes, a very sweet bed indeed!

I’d like to thank Thalia Jie for her inputs on this ensemble.

I have a thing for retro clothes. I find them sexy, feminine and elegant. I got myself this great dress form Bossanova – I’m wearing it in the first picture, along with awesome pumps from Shiny Things and hair from Ingenue, another great place for retro fans.

To my surprise, I noticed that the dress works either with prim parts or without! In the second picture, I detached the mermaid bottom and sleeve puffs, took off the hat, changed the hairstyle to a bit punkier one, Eglantine from ETD, added some jewelry and slouch boots from Maitreya… and again, one outfit, two looks!
