Part One:

Many avatars come to Ewing Fashion Agency to find out more about becoming a model. We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Sparrow on her second day in SL. She is hungry to learn more, and is struggling through the “newbie” phase.

Face it we’ve all been there. Do you remember buying your first purchase that was in a box? You probably wore it and struggled with how to open it. Sparrow is in her Second Life infancy, but knows she wants to find her own personal style beyond the freebie warehouse “fashion” scene.
Sparrow has agreed to take part in a project. One where we will help guide her personal quest for identity in SL.  Every few weeks, we will check back in with Sparrow and update you her on her progress.

Meet Sparrow:

This week I met Incolumis Lancaster! I met him at his newly established modeling agency, Excelsis Model Agency! He told me about his work and future plans. He also shared with me some useful tips for you if you are a budding model or would like to become one!

Leeza Catteneo: Hello Incolumis! What a nice place!

Incolumis Lancaster: Welcome. It’s the agency I’m running together with my girlfriend and cayce newell. We’ve just started a few weeks ago so we’re still in the process of starting. We were conducting auditions these past few weeks.

Leeza: Are you planning shows yet?

Incolumis Lancaster: Yes we are. We’ve already build a catwalk for a beachshow. It’s behind this building. The idea is that visitors teleport to this ship. We have no exact dates yet, we’re still contacting designers. But I think they would like this setup when they see it.

Leeza: Do you still work for other agencies?

This week I met Barbarella Fuosing! Barbarella is a well known model in the SecondLife fashion scene and has just begun organizing fashion shows. She told me about her favourite designers and a huge fashion event on Wednesday… Tomorrow!

Leeza Catteneo: How long have you been modeling?

Barbarella Fuosing: For 6 or 7 months I would guess. It may be longer. Wondering when I stopped being a cat.

Leeza: But now you are working on so much more. You managed the WooT show at Dreamgirls and it was a great success.

Barbarella Fuosing: Thank you. After the disasterous start with Second Life closing and models and designers being locked out it went very well considering. I also work with Modavia, Boulevard, Indyra’s model troupe and Sana Models, too. This Wednesday 1pm will be the Boulevard Italian show, on Monday I have a Sana Charity Show coming up, then I have to start working on a Zhao show for Dreamgirls. Zhao will be me second for Dreamgirls.

This week, I met a person I always recognized as one of the Top Models in Second Life – Poptart Lilliehook. I knew her name from my first days in the fashion world of Second Life. I saw her at many big shows but never talked to her. I think that was one of the reasons I really enjoyed meeting her. She showed me her very beautifully designed island, where other residents can rent houses as well. Her place is one of the loveliest I’ve seen.

Poptart Lilliehook: Welcome to Lombok, my island.

Leeza Catteneo: Thank you Poptart. You are a FACES model, you are the Chief Marketing Officer of LeeZu Baxter Design, you are busy with Modavia and you are in MAD Agency too. Is there any spare time?

Poptart Lilliehook: Yes! MAD is a great agency. I love the sets that Maddox builds. I am a FACES model and I’m thinking of blogging for them. But I got enough to do at Modavia and LBD. LeeZu and Suzi keep me busy.

Leeza: When did you meet Leezu?

Poptart Lilliehook: I guess I have known her for about 6 months. I did some modelling for LBD and then she invited me to be in one of her ads and after that she offered me a job. I am involved with marketing in real life, so it’s not that different from what I do here. There are a lot of skills from your real life knowledge base that you can use here . It is a marketer’s dream! You can create whatever your imagination can concieve.
