Thanks to Tillie Ariantho for taking the pictures

Thank you all for being there! It was a great event with lot of fun, hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did! Please feel free to share your pictures of the event in the FLICKR group ESTAFETTE FOR FREEDOM – 2010

I have a free life, the country where I live is not in war, I can say what I want, I can walk where I want, I can think what I want, I can dress how I want and I don’t have to feel in danger.

All this feels very natural.

To remind us that this is not so natural and not in reach for every person in the world, we celebrate Freedom Day in the Netherlands on 5 May. First to remember the end of World War II, but now also to celebrate and fight for freedom for all people in the world. A lot of festivals are taking place this day all through the country. One of these festivals is Bevrijdingspop, a big music festival with 80.000 visitors.

And this year Bevrijdingspop can be heard in SL! The concert will be streamed to here live and photos of the events will be transferred and displayed directly to feel the atmosphere of the event! And more… Second Life will be showed during the event, there is a streamer of the RL crew in SL who will film and project this film by a beamer on a big screen! Where can you be more free to be who you want to be than in Second Life? We are going to show that with…

ESTAFETTE FOR FREEDOM

(Thanks to Kafee Iwish for editting the original flyer of Bevrijdingspop)

At a secret location the Bevrijdingspop will be streamed. At this place there is only room for a few people. To show as many different people from the world we are living in, every person stays just a few minutes at this place and then tp’s a friend who will stay for a while and so on. During the stay, the person will be filmed and be seen in RL.  The big challenge is to show as many people as possible and to create a nice document of our big variety of residents.

Be prepared, dress your freedom, maybe you will receive a tp to take part in a semi-secret exclusive event where you can have your 15 minutes of fame and show the world who you are.

As a thank you for joining, you will find gifts for you from some amazing designers: SySy’s, ki Design, Aleida Rhode, Mashooka Designs, Sascha’s Designs, SF Design, Koguma Glasses Style (K_gs), Blacklace, GM Nikolaidis, Perse

SO JOIN AND CELEBRATE FREEDOM!

Pictures of ClubNL – Amsterdam

I was living a kind of lazy housewife life for a long time… until last Saturday. I received an email from Jennifer Delano of JenJenPR, asking me of I was willing to join the organisation of  a simultaneous reallife – Secondlife fashion show. This time the event will take place in the hot and steamy Club NL in Amsterdam during a party of the über cute Johnny de Mol! I shifted  some dust away from my housewife life and said yes! Of course I want!

Because EFA is not able to host this event for now, I was glad that Patty Cortes, Glance International Agency, was very enthusiastic and willing to take the challenge with me to turn this RL-SL event, like First Fusion, Syntopia and EFA-AIFW2009, into an unforgetable experience. Together with her spirit, the designs of Convoitise and our experience with RL-SL events we will present you a party that can not be missed!

Stay tuned for more news!

If your wardrobe is in need of some color, a visit to The Graceful Lily should be considered.  Whether you’re looking for formal, casual or club wear, Talia Lefavre brings her unique use of vibrant colors and intricate patterns to each style.  Talia is also an artist, you can see some of her works displayed at her store, and that aspect of her shows in her design work.  It’s as if she is creating a work of art with the body as the canvas and the clothing being the medium.

This first sample of her work, above, is a combination of the Egyptian Top in Orange and Blue Quilted Pants sold separately.  Aside from the top being a vivid and saturated hue, it is made more interesting by the stylized cutout of Egyptian style motifs.  The wave-like pattern of the pants offers a nice contrast to the design of the top.  The prim cuffs and thigh buckle add some attitude to this colorful ensemble.  The top is also available in red, coffee and black, while the pants come in green and tan in addition to the blue seen here.  This look is completed with Stiletto Moody Bitch Booties.  Hair is GIRLO from ::69:: in Charcoal and the skin is Baiastice_D. In the world of fashion, people are always looking for new and fresh.  Often times it is found with the discovery of a new talented designer, which causes us to constantly search for unheralded names.   But the truly talented continue to turn out fresh ideas regularly.  In our quest for new we shouldn’t make the mistake of ignoring those we already know and one to whom we need always pay attention is Sissy Pessoa of Baiastice.  Sissy has been around the Second Life fashion scene for a number of years and over that time has been on of the leaders in creativity and talent.  Besides her constant innovations in clothing of many styles, she has also branched into other areas including skins, lingerie, shoes, lashes and nails.  Below are several outfits recently available and photographed at various locations around the Costa Rica Sims where a Baiastice store is also located.  All are shown with Baiastice skins as well.

This first couture ensemble, above, is the BlackAndrea dress, perfect for admiring the art works at the Criss Museum of Contemporary Art in Alajuela.  The strapless bodice and knee-length pencil skirt form a classy and feminine silhouette.  The hat adds a modern flair while the included gloves and stockings are keeping with the classic feel.  The skin here is Baiastice_D. Casting-Peach-make up 10 BK.  The look is completed with Laqroki Cutie hair in black, Stiletto Moody Pinups in Black Patent Python and Necklace No 128 [small] and Earrings No 127 in silver from Kraftika.
